PHILIPPE ROUX-DESSARPS APPOINTED GENERAL MANAGER OF PARK HYATT TOKYO

TOKYO (August 22, 2008) – Park Hyatt Tokyo is pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe Roux-Dessarps as General Manager, effective September 1, 2008.  In his new role, Roux-Dessarps will oversee operations of the intimate 178-room hotel located in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Roux-Dessarps graduated from the Lausanne Hotel School and was selected as a Corporate Trainee by Hyatt International, undertaking intensive training in all departments at Hyatt Regency Tahiti, where he was appointed Front Office Assistant Manager on completion of the programme.  He continued on to Hyatt Regency Osaka and Hyatt Regency Guam, and also worked as the Front Office Manager at Park Hyatt Tokyo from 1996 to 1999.  In July 2004, he was appointed Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome and, in April 2006, to his current role as General Manager of Hyatt Regency Birmingham.

Roux-Dessarps replaces Robert Barker, who has been General Manager of Park Hyatt Tokyo since August 2004.  “It is a great pleasure to return to Park Hyatt Tokyo and join its highly experienced team again.  I had the opportunity to work with many members of this team on my first assignment here, and I am delighted to be returning to play a role in this magnificent property in such a vibrant and exciting city,” said Roux-Dessarps.
