CHICAGO—January 23, 2006—25-year Hyatt Veteran Chuck Floyd, 45, has been promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, based in Chicago. In his new role, Floyd assumes the responsibilities of Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s departing president and longtime company executive Ed Rabin, who retired in December.

Global Hyatt Corporation announced today that it has acquired the 505room Westin Santa Clara from an affiliate of Strategic Hotel Capital, LLC. Effective immediately, Hyatt assumes management of the property and has rebranded and repositioned the hotel as Hyatt Regency Santa Clara and will promptly begin a $10 million dollar renovation of guestrooms, lobby area and meeting space.
