Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile Transitions to a Hyatt Centric Hotel
Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile introduces a second Hyatt Centric hotel to Chicago

CHICAGO (January 24, 2016) – Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile is the latest hotel to join the Hyatt Centric portfolio of hotels, targeting millennial-minded travelers who want to be in the middle of the action. Situated in the heart of Chicago’s upscale shopping and dining district, Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile was rebranded from Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile and is the second Hyatt Centric hotel in Chicago. The first hotel in the Hyatt Centric portfolio, Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, opened in 2015.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the growing Hyatt Centric brand,” said Doug Dean, general manager, Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile. “Like all Hyatt Centric properties, our new hotel is in the center of it all, just minutes from the city’s famous landmarks sites like the John Hancock Center, Water Tower Place, and Navy Pier, as well as top restaurants and retail shops. Our hotel is a true launch pad to the amazing sights and sounds of the great city of Chicago. The Hyatt Centric hotel guest is curious, independent and hungry for authentic experiences, and our team of dedicated colleagues is excited to introduce our new hotel to both loyal and new guests.”

The TripAdvisor “Award of Excellence 2016” hotel offers 419 guest rooms, including 96 corner king guest rooms and executive suites, an indoor pool, fitness center, and 20,000 of special event space, making the hotel a perfect destination for both leisure and business travelers and small- or large-scale group events.

The hotel also now features new in-room Hyatt Centric amenities including the all-natural bath essentials line BeeKind®, Drybar Buttercup salon-quality blow-dryers, plush jersey-knit soft hooded bathrobes, a Keurig® pod coffee maker, and a JBL Horizon alarm clock offering stereo-quality sound and wireless Bluetooth connectivity.

Designed by Chicago-based design firm Looney & Associates, the hotel features a metropolitan and contemporary feel. Upon entering the second-floor lobby, guests are welcomed into a space that exudes style and comfort. The Escape Bar is the ideal space for checking e-mail or a casual meeting; it offers complimentary Wi-Fi, four computers, two LCD HDTVs, printers for boarding passes or documents, and shelves lined with booked for guests to enjoy at their leisure.

As the lobby wraps around to Level Two, the hotel’s restaurant and bar featuring locally sourced ingredients and barrel-aged cocktails, guests enjoy the extensive artwork collection which was thoughtfully created to pay homage to Chicago’s storied past. Among the collection is a modern interpretation of Chicago’s coastline by Craig Allan, “Chicago Michigan Shoreline Fusing Its Appearance Over The Course of the Past Century,” featuring the city’s 77 distinct neighborhoods. The hotel also boasts paintings by Helen Durant that speak to the fables of Chicago like the “The Burden” of the Cubs’ famous Curse of the Billy Goat, and pewter and bronze sculptures by Brad Oldham such as “Map Wall,” an interpretation of the hotel’s own neighborhood, Streeterville.

This March, Level Two will begin offering local-inspired activities and programing, open to hotel guests and locals alike, including live musical entertainment, wine tastings and more. Guests may visit the hotel’s Web site come March for a schedule of events.

Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile also offers a dynamic and inviting space for conferences, events and meetings in downtown Chicago. The hotel’s 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting space includes a state-of-the art boardroom, expansive ballrooms and intimate salons with refreshing natural sunlight and views of Chicago.

Recognizing travelers’ demand for fitness offerings, the hotel’s fitness center offers Life Fitness® cardio equipment wired with Wi-Fi capabilities, individualized TV screens, and iPhone®/iPod® docking stations. Hyatt StayFit® free weights and yoga equipment are available for guest use, and the indoor pool features travertine-styled porcelain tile.
