PETE SEARS NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FIELD OPERATIONS, HYATT HOTELS CORPORATION

CHICAGO- FEBRUARY 8, 2006—Pete Sears has been promoted to senior vice president, field operations for Hyatt Hotels Corporation. In his new role, Mr. Sears is responsible for owner relations, financial performance and standardization of product and services in Hyatt’s 22 hotels in the Midwest region. Mr. Sears will be based in Chicago at Hyatt’s corporate headquarters. He reports to Chuck Floyd, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Most recently, Sears was general manager of Hyatt Regency San Francisco. Prior to that, he was general manager of Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa, overseeing a $60 million renovation and revitalization of the property.

A 19-year Hyatt veteran, Sears started his career as a corporate management trainee in San Antonio, TX. Since then, Sears has held managerial positions at several Hyatt properties including Hyatt Regency West Houston, Park Hyatt Los Angeles, Hyatt Newporter, Hyatt Regency Long Beach, Hyatt Regency San Diego. He has been general manager at Hyatt Regency Fisherman’s Wharf, Park Hyatt San Francisco and Hyatt Regency Orange County.

In 2002, Sears was nominated for the prestigious Pritzker Award, which honors the most outstanding General Manager in Hyatt Corporation.

Sears graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management. He resides in Chicago.
