New Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa Open With Music and Fanfare
New Getaway in Central Texas Offers World Class Spa, Championship Golf Course and Activities for the Entire Family to Enjoy

AUSTIN/BASTROP, TEXAS-June 1, 2006 Amid the musical sounds of fiddlers and a resounding finale from a local gospel choir, the newest and largest destination resort in Central Texas opened its doors today with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, located just 20 miles from downtown Austin and seven miles from Bastrop, celebrates its first day of business with an afternoon of music, food tastings, property tours and the opportunity to try a variety of resort activities including horse-drawn carriage rides.

The 492-room Hyatt Regency Lost Pines, situated 13 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, adjoins the 1,100-acre McKinney Roughs Nature Park and has a mile of river frontage on the Colorado River. The site is in the midst of the famed Lost Pines region of Central Texas, which features island forests of Loblolly Pines mysteriously separated by more than 80 miles from the better-known Piney Woods of East Texas. Its remote but easily-accessible location provides a distinctive getaway experience by offering the best of natural and manmade amenities, ranging from hiking and horseback riding, to kayaking and hot air balloon rides, to a full-service spa, championship 18hole golf course and a variety of dining options.

The 405-acre destination resort features Wolfdancer Golf Club, an 18-hole signature course designed by Arthur Hills; Spa Django, a full-service 18,000-square-foot spa; and eight restaurants and bars. Recreational amenities include a water park with multiple pools, including a 1,000-foot flowing river pool; canoeing, kayaking, rafting and fly-fishing on the Colorado River, and more than 16 miles of hiking and equestrian trails.

The resort also offers Camp Hyatt children’s program, Regency Club services as well as more than 60,000 square feet of indoor function space and 230,000 square feet of outdoor function venues. For more information visit www.visitlostpines.com.
