GRAND HYATT SANTIAGO RESUMES BUSINESS
Hotel reopens 250 guestrooms following 27 February earthquake

(24 March 2010) – On 21 March, Grand Hyatt Santiago resumed business with the reopening of 250 guestrooms and all its services including its restaurants, banqueting and meeting facilities and spa. Its remaining guestrooms and suites will be available as of 31 March, 2010.

The safety and security of guests and associates are top priorities at Grand Hyatt Santiago. Following the 27 February earthquake, a number of independent structural engineers inspected the property and indicated that the hotel’s structural integrity was not compromised. Repairs have been completed on minor damage such as surface cracks, broken furniture and lighting fixtures.

The earthquake’s epicenter was offshore from the Maule Region of , and a majority of the damage occurred near the city of and , approximately 300 to 500 kilometres south of the city of de . The had internal and external damage, but normal operations have resumed for all international arrival and departures as well as for domestic arrival and departures.
